We are thrilled to announce the release of our new travel blog WordPress plugin, Map My Posts!

This easy-to-use plugin allows travel bloggers to associate their existing categories or tags with countries or any location on a map. This data can then be used to create a Google Map, Google Static Map, or Google Geochart visualization which can be shown using a widget or embedded on any page or post using a shortcode.

For example, this is a Google Map, created with Map My Posts, showing the locations of posts on Around This World:

The map above was created using the shortcode:

[mmp-map]

Map My Posts offers complete control over map layouts, design, click actions, and more.

The plugin is ideal for anyone with a travel blog. Most bloggers already file their blogs under a tag or category to specify the location. Just edit the existing categories or tags you would like to associate with Map My Posts – the plugin will even try to automatically determine a country based upon the existing name.

You can download the plugin from the official WordPress Plugin Directory.

This is great! I’m starting a travel blog and was looking for something like this. I searched “wordpress map of posts” and came across your plugin, which led me to your site. I subscribed to your RSS feed, and lo and behold, this is one of your most recent posts. Thanks a lot, I’ll be installing it soon!
